Daishoin Temple

Located at the foot of Mount Misen, Daisho-in temple is worth the stop on your way up. Its prayer hall was founded in the 12th century by Emperor Toba and remained linked with Imperial Family until the 19th century. There are more than 500 Buddhist statues scattered around the complex.
