It served as a seat for the Olomouc bishops and notably hosted Napoleon Bonaparte. Since 1954, the building has functioned as a regional museum, preserving the area's cultural heritage.
The museum's collections include permanent exhibitions focused on ethnography and local folk pottery. The site is a designated Cultural Heritage Site and remains open to the public.
