This cove is characterized by a sea that transitions from blue to emerald green, with a shoreline composed of white and pink pebbles mixed with sand. It has earned global recognition, ranking as the most beautiful beach in Europe and second in the world. The area is situated north of Punta Ispùligi, which separates it from the neighboring Spiaggia dei Gabbiani.
Reaching the site requires travel by boat or via a demanding land trail. To preserve the local ecosystem, daily access is restricted to a maximum of 700 people. The beach is located within a region known for its wild and unspoiled natural environment.
The local name for the beach is Ispuligedenìe. Its Italian name, meaning thief, is derived from a fisherman's story regarding a monk seal that allegedly stole his catch.
