The Real Mary King's Close

This underground street complex consists of a warren of 17th-century alleys that were partially demolished and buried during the 18th century. Named after Mary King, a merchant burgess who resided there in the 1600s, the site remains a preserved remnant of the historic Old Town. It was reopened to the public as a historic attraction in 2003.

The site is known for its urban legends, myths of hauntings, and dark history.
