Southwest Research Institute, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, is one of the oldest and largest independent, not-for-profit, applied research and development organizations in the United States. Founded in 1947 by oil businessman Tom Slick, SwRI provides contract research and development services to government and industrial clients.
