Castle Mill

Built in 1851, this Dutch-style smock mill is a well-preserved example of 19th-century industrial architecture and serves as a symbol of the regional landscape. The site is a designated national monument and represents the last remaining windmill of its type in the urban center. It is managed as a working life museum, illustrating historical milling techniques and daily life.

The architectural ensemble includes the mill, which contains functional machinery, and an associated miller’s residence. Both the mill and the house are fully furnished and preserved to reflect 19th-century conditions. The site is managed by the local museum department and is open to the public as a historical landmark.
