Katedra Wniebowzięcia NMP

This Baroque Roman Catholic cathedral serves as the seat of the Diocese of Dubrovnik. The current structure was built in the early 18th century, with construction beginning around 1670, to replace a former Romanesque cathedral destroyed during the devastating earthquake of 1667. Located within the heart of the city's UNESCO-protected Old Town, the building is a significant architectural landmark characterized by its refined Baroque style.

The interior houses a rich Cathedral Treasury containing a vast collection of religious artifacts and sacred art. Among the most notable works are paintings attributed to the Italian master Titian. The collection represents a significant portion of the city's cultural and spiritual heritage, featuring various masterpieces by European artists.

A central feature of the treasury is the collection of precious relics, most notably those belonging to Saint Blaise, the patron saint of Dubrovnik. As a prominent place of worship and a symbol of the city's endurance, the cathedral remains an active religious site and a key historical monument accessible to the public.
