Zamek we Frydku

Originally established as a fortress in the 13th century, this Gothic and Renaissance castle served as the administrative center for the Frýdek state country. Significant expansions occurred during the 15th century, followed by a major conversion into a château in the 17th century. The complex is a designated Cultural Heritage Site and stands as a prominent landmark with an adjacent castle park.

The premises are open to the public and house the Muzeum Beskyd, which focuses on the history, ethnography, and natural environment of the Beskydy region. Notable interior spaces include the 17th-century Knight's Hall and the Chapel of St. Barbora. A dedicated castle circuit allows for the exploration of these historical interiors and various regional exhibitions.
