Oedolgae

This 20-meter-high volcanic stone pillar was formed by the erosion of a lava field by ocean waves. The formation is surrounded by vertical sea cliffs and sea caves, creating a distinct coastal landscape. It was officially designated as a Scenic Site of South Korea in 2011.

The rock is associated with the legend of Halmangbawi, or Grandmother Rock. According to local folklore, the pillar represents a grandmother who waited for her husband until she eventually turned into stone.

As a significant geological and cultural landmark, it is recognized as a National Scenic Site and a Korean cultural heritage item. The site features a combination of natural volcanic structures and coastal erosion features.
