Museu do Mar

The museum is housed within the Arsenale della Real Marina di Palermo, a former maritime arsenal that functioned from 1630 until 1943. After being restored, the site reopened in 1997 to preserve and display the naval history of the region. The structure represents a significant 17th-century military installation.

The internal collection is divided into five sections covering various aspects of maritime life and technology. Featured exhibits include ship models, historical marine engines, and documentation of naval battles. The displays also detail the evolution of Sicilian shipbuilding techniques and the long-standing traditions of local sailors.
