Upper Gate

The Upper Gate, also known as the Great Gate, is a Renaissance structure dating from the second half of the 16th century. Its facade is characterized by distinctive sgraffito decoration, while the area above the passage features a five-petalled rose emblem and the date 1626.

The gate originally functioned as an outer fortification. The historical complex formerly included a moat and an inner Gothic gate tower, which was removed in the 19th century. It stands as a primary entry point to the well-preserved Renaissance and Baroque district.
