Completed in 1914, this Russian Orthodox church was designed by the architect Mikhail Preobrazhensky in the Russian Revival style. Historically associated with the Russian Embassy, the building is characterized by its gilded domes and traditional Russian architectural elements. The interior features a majolica iconostasis and extensive frescoes.

The site serves as the Representation of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia in Sofia. It is an active place of worship where regular divine liturgies are held, maintaining the spiritual connection between the Russian and Bulgarian Orthodox Churches.

A significant feature of the church is its crypt, which houses the tomb of Archbishop Seraphim (Sobolev). The archbishop is widely venerated as a miracle-worker, and the crypt is a frequent site for prayer.
