Saints Cyril Assumption Basilica

Founded in 1228, this minor basilica and National Cultural Monument is a major spiritual center and pilgrimage site. Its history is deeply connected to the legacy of Saints Cyril and Methodius, who were missionaries to Great Moravia. The site serves as a focal point for Cyril-Methodian celebrations and is part of a larger monastery complex.

The building features Romanesque architecture and was worked on by the architect Giovanni Pietro Tencalla. It functions as an active parish church with a regular liturgical program and bohoslužby (services). The interior and surrounding grounds host occasional cultural exhibitions focused on Slavic history and Christian art.

The site is open to the public and remains one of the most important religious landmarks in the country. It offers a combination of historical architecture and active spiritual life, with regular religious programs held throughout the year.
