Mesquita Banya Bashi

Completed in 1566, this Sunni Islamic mosque was designed by the renowned Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan. It stands as a significant example of Ottoman architecture and remains the only functioning mosque in the city for the local Muslim community.

The building is notable for its unique location, having been constructed over natural thermal springs that were once part of a bath complex. Its architectural features include a prominent central dome and a tall minaret, reflecting the classical style of the 16th century.

As an active place of worship, the mosque is a functioning religious site and a preserved medieval landmark.
