This Gothic place of worship was constructed between the 14th and 15th centuries on the site of an ancient Gallo-Roman port. While primarily dating from the medieval period, the structure underwent significant remodeling during the 19th century.
As a listed national monument, the church is an integral component of the UNESCO World Heritage site. This designation, granted in 2007, recognizes an extensive collection of historical monuments and 18th-century architectural heritage.
The structure features characteristic Gothic architecture and is included as a point of interest on the Port de la Lune (Port of the Moon) accessible route. It stands as one of over 350 listed monuments within the protected heritage zone.
