Greenmarket Square

This historical square is one of the oldest public spaces and has fulfilled various roles throughout its history, including serving as a slave market, a vegetable market, and a parking lot. It currently functions as a pedestrianized flea market where informal traders offer a wide range of African souvenirs, curios, and trinkets.

The market is known for traditional African arts, crafts, and clothing. Available items include hand-crafted jewelry, ornaments, and various locally inspired treasures.

Significant architecture and historic buildings surround the square, including the Old Town House. The area is also home to various museums and restaurants.
