Mahkamat al-Pasha

Constructed between 1941 and 1942, this historic administrative complex has served multiple functions, including a courthouse, a parliamentary building, and a reception area for state occasions. Historically, the site also functioned as the residence of the Pasha and contained a prison. The building remains a functional center for city operations and official banquets.

The structure is a significant example of Mauro-Andalusi and Hispano-Moorish architecture. It features approximately 60 apartments arranged around interior courtyards, with designs inspired by the Alhambra. Notable architectural details include carved cedar wood ceilings, chiseled stucco, and extensive zellige (polychrome mosaic) tilework.

The complex is built with traditional materials such as carved plaster and features a prominent marble courtyard. It continues to serve as an official court and functional administrative center.
