Čertovo jezero

This glacial lake is a national nature reserve situated at an altitude of 1030 meters on the southeastern slope of Jezerní hora. It covers an area of approximately 105,310 square meters and reaches a maximum depth of 36 meters. The site is protected for its unique flora and distinct geological origin.

The lake holds a unique hydrological position as the only such body of water in the region that belongs to the Danube river basin. While other nearby lakes drain into the Elbe, this one flows toward the Danube.

As a protected natural area, the site preserves a specific ecosystem characteristic of high-altitude glacial formations. The area is used for hiking and sightseeing within the framework of its status as a national nature reserve.
