The Queen's Staircase is a historic walkway carved from solid limestone between 1793 and 1794. While originally constructed with 66 steps, 65 are currently visible. The entire structure was hand-hewn by slaves and remains a significant monument from the late 18th century.
This landmark is part of the Fort Fincastle Historic Complex and serves as a direct passageway connecting the fort to the city area below. The walkway was created by cutting directly into the limestone rock.
The site is a walkable landmark situated near the cruise port. It is a prominent location for photography due to its unique architectural and historical features.
