The infrastructure consists of the bridge, the artificial island of Peberholm (also known as Pepparholm), and a tunnel connection. It links the road and rail networks of the Scandinavian Peninsula with Mainland Europe, extending from Lernacken to the tunnel entrance. The facility functions as an international toll bridge and serves as a vital transport link for both motor vehicles and trains.
