Acest centru de artă contemporană din districtul Mitte din Berlin a fost fondat la începutul anilor '90. Muzeul nu are colecții permanente, doar cele temporare, ceea ce permite spațiului să răspundă mai mult inovațiilor și modurilor artistice nou apărute.
