The permanent exhibition is housed in the west wing of the Archbishop's Palace (Erkebispegården). It features the Norwegian crown jewels, including the king's crown, scepter, and orb. These items have historically been used during royal coronations and ceremonies.
The collection also includes the queen's crown, as well as coronation robes and chairs. Notable pieces on display were used during the 1906 coronation of King Haakon VII and Queen Maud.
The museum opened on the centenary of the 1906 coronation. It serves as a dedicated space for the preservation and public display of the nation's royal regalia.
