The Great Waterfall reaches a height of 16 metres and is situated within the Adršpach-Teplice Rocks, a massive sandstone rock city. The waterfall is fed by the overflow from an upstream lake where boat rides are conducted. During the winter, the water freezes to form a large icefall.

The surrounding landscape features thousands of sandstone towers and unique rock formations. Scenic trails lead through the rock city to the waterfall.
