Chemin de la Corniche

This historic promenade consists of a scenic walkway built atop 17th-century ramparts. Often described as the most beautiful balcony in Europe, the path follows the fortifications along the edge of the valley. The writer Batty Weber is credited with famously coining this descriptive phrase for the site.

The walkway functions as both a fortification and a viewpoint, offering wide-ranging panoramic views. Notable sights visible from the path include the Alzette valley, the Grund district, the Pfaffenthal district, and the Rham Plateau.

The promenade is open to the public as a pedestrian route for sightseeing and discovering the historical landscape of the area.
