Hussite Museum

Founded in 1878, this state institution focuses on the history of the Hussite movement and the local region. The museum is housed in the historic Old Town Hall and operates as a research institution. It also manages additional sites, including Kotnov Castle and tower, and the Monument of Dr. Edvard Beneš, who served as the second President of Czechoslovakia.

A significant feature is the complex of medieval underground tunnels and cellars dating to the 15th century. A 500-meter-long route is open to the public, with the entrance located inside the Old Town Hall. These subterranean passages demonstrate how such spaces were utilized during the Middle Ages.

The museum provides various educational programs and permanent exhibitions regarding the Hussite period. These exhibits are designed to detail the historical development of the town and its surrounding area.
