Gemsstock

Standing at an elevation of 2,962 meters in the Gotthard Group, this peak overlooks the surrounding region. It is a central part of the Andermatt+Sedrun+Disentis holiday destination and the Skiarena Andermatt-Sedrun. Access to the summit is provided by a cable car from the valley.

The mountain is characterized by high-altitude terrain and is a notable destination for skiing and freeriding. The slopes include the well-known Bernhard-Russi-Run and are recognized for their challenging nature. Due to the elevation, the skiing season typically extends until May.

During the summer months, the area is used for hiking and other mountain sports. The landscape features a mix of rugged mountainous peaks and surrounding grassy terrain. The summit serves as a high-altitude viewpoint within the Swiss Lepontine Alps.
