Established in the 1590s, this historic square is distinguished by its well-preserved half-timbered houses and original cobblestone pavement. In 2021, the site was voted Sweden's most beautiful square.
The square houses several cultural landmarks, including the Hedmanska gården and the Form/Design Center, a venue dedicated to architecture and design. The architecture reflects the historical character of the area, featuring buildings that date back to the 16th century.
The area contains a variety of restaurants, coffee bars, and specialty shops. Many of the dining establishments feature outdoor terraces and seating areas. The square is a pedestrian-friendly space and is open to the public.
