Expressway S61

Expressway S61 or express road S61 is a major planned road in Poland which is going to run from the Polish-Lithuanian border near Budzisko to Ostrów Mazowiecka.

As of 2021, the part opened to traffic consists of four separate sections, forming the bypasses of Suwałki/Augustów, Szczuczyn and Stawiski, and a section from Śniadowo to Lomża south. The contracts for designing and building the rest of the road were signed in 2017-2018. The road will be a dual carriageway along its entire length, and thus the present single carriageway sections are being upgraded.

The majority of the route, 152.9 km, is planned to get completed in 2021 and 2022, while two delayed sections of 44 km length are expected to get opened to traffic in 2023.
