Al Wahda Arches

The structure is a 100-meter-tall architectural monument consisting of a pair of intertwined steel arches and an intricate cable net. Designed by Erik Behrens, the monument officially opened on December 16, 2017. The design serves as a symbolic gateway between historic districts and the modern Lusail City, utilizing an innovative structural design that incorporates a digital billboard.

The monument's aesthetic is heavily influenced by maritime heritage, specifically the tradition of pearl diving, which is reflected in the complex cable net pattern.
