The museum is housed in a 6,300-square-meter facility characterized by a 12-meter-high glass cube known as El Cubo. Designed by architects Javier Pérez de la Fuente and Juan Antonio Marín Malavé, the structure features vibrant multicolored panels added by the artist Daniel Buren. Inaugurated on March 28, 2015, this site represents the first international outpost of the Centre National d'Art et de Culture Georges Pompidou.
The permanent collection features approximately seventy works spanning the 20th and 21st centuries. The selection includes masterpieces by renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso, Francis Bacon, Frida Kahlo, Constantin Brâncuși, and Alberto Giacometti. These exhibits provide a journey through modern and contemporary art, complemented by a rotating schedule of temporary exhibitions.
The museum operates as a multidisciplinary space for contemporary creation and creative community engagement. Although initially planned for a five-year duration, the institution continues to host a rotating collection on loan from Paris. Admission includes access to an audio guide to provide context for the various displays.
