Dating back to the 13th century, this structure is the oldest existing church in the area. Originally constructed as a Romanesque basilica, it was later rebuilt into a late Gothic three-aisled hall. The building is officially designated as a Cultural Heritage Site.
The interior includes a crypt containing historical findings and an exhibition located in the church nave. A viewpoint is situated at the top of the southern tower.
The building is open to the public and serves as the venue for the annual Egerer Orgelsommer music festival. Its architectural history is marked by an inception around the year 1300, showcasing a transition from Romanesque foundations to Gothic elements.
