This world-class cultural precinct and modern piazza was established in 2002. Constructed over active railway lines, the site features a unique architectural design and functions as a major venue for arts and public gatherings. It is recognized as a Cultural Heritage Site and serves as a central hub for community activities and free performances throughout the year.
The precinct houses several prominent cultural institutions, including the Ian Potter Centre, ACMI, and the Koorie Heritage Trust. Facilities include a variety of art galleries, museums, and cinemas, alongside specialty stores and a multi-level car park.
