Inaugurated in 1866, this bronze equestrian statue stands as a memorial to King Dom Pedro IV. The monument, which reaches a height of 10 meters, commemorates the monarch's role in fighting for Portugal's first constitution and remains a significant symbol of Portuguese liberalism.

The artwork, created by the sculptor Célestin Anatole Calmels, features detailed bas-reliefs depicting various historical moments from the king's life. It is classified as an Imóvel de Interesse Público and serves as a central historical landmark.
