Klis Fortress

This medieval fortification is strategically positioned on a steep, rocky gorge, providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Historically utilized as a royal stronghold, the structure served as a strategic defender for centuries and exhibits elements of baroque architecture. The site is designated as a Cultural Heritage Site and a national monument.

The complex includes several specialized facilities such as an interpretation centre, an ethno agro park, and an olive museum. Within the fortress walls, ancient halls and ramparts are available to view. A dedicated museum displays a collection of historical arms and armor.

The fortress served as a filming location for the series Game of Thrones, representing the city of Meereen. The site is open to the public, offering a look at its historical and architectural features.
