Also called the Old Buda, or simply Óbuda island, this is the largest island in Budapest. It is also a popular park and a recreational area.
The island spans over an area of approximately 100 hectares an is composed of debris brought by the river. As early as the first century AD, it already served as the grounds for a camp of some 6000 Roman soldiers.
