Designed by architect Joaquín Rucoba, this Neo-Mudéjar bullring was constructed starting in 1874 and inaugurated on June 11, 1876. The structure is distinguished by its 16-sided exterior and a central arena with a diameter of 52 meters. It holds the status of a National Monument and is classified as a first-class bullring, with a maximum capacity of 9,032 people.
Following a significant restoration completed in 2019, the building serves as a year-round cultural center. While traditional bullfighting events continue to take place, the venue hosts a variety of art and photography exhibitions throughout the year.
The site includes a dedicated bullfighting museum and the Centro de Experiencias Inmersivas de la Tauromaquia. These facilities provide historical context and immersive displays related to the architectural and cultural heritage of the landmark.
