Visit Al Fahidi Fort, the oldest building in Dubai and see how Dubai transformed from a tiny city to the wonder it is today. The fort was formerly used for protection of the city as well as the dwelling for the emperor. The premises were turned into a museum in 1969.
The museum offers both educative and fascinating exhibits, from archaeological finds to model houses and families. There is a section where you can learn about the traditional life of Bedouins and about their great knowledge of the desert and the stars.
Also, there is a video room where you can see the fast development of Dubai after the oil was discovered here.
The museum is easily accessible via metro – the nearest station is Al Fahidi.
