Акропољ, је стјеновито брдо, античко светилиште посвећено грчкој богињи Атини заштитници града Атине, у самом центру долине Атике. Висине је око 150 m, a сам врх чини платформа димензија 300х150 m, гдје се налази архитектонски комплекс. Брдо је први пут утврђено зидовима у микенском периоду, а дијелови тих првих зидина су и данас видљиви, нарочито на југоистоку Пропилаје.
