Arlingtonkyrkogården, som ligger i Arlington, Virginia vid Potomacfloden mittemot staden Washington, är USA:s mest betydande krigskyrkogård. På krigsminister Edwin M. Stantons beslut grundades griftegården 1864 på plantageägor som konfiskerats från sydstatsgeneralen Robert E. Lee.
Det är Armédepartementet som ombesörjer driften av griftegården. De flesta andra federala krigsgriftegårdarna drivs av Veterandepartementet.
The guard is changed every hour on the hour October 1 to March 31 in an elaborate ritual. From April 1 through September 30, there are more than double the opportunities to view the change.
