วังถูกสร้างขึ้นในศตวรรษที่ 18 ซึ่งปัจจุบันเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของลิสบอน ประกอบด้วยอาคารห้าหลังที่ซับซ้อนเป็นอัญมณีสถาปัตยกรรมที่สวยงามรวมคุณสมบัติของสไตล์บาร็อคและแมนเนอร์ มันถูกใช้เป็นที่อยู่อาศัยอย่างเป็นทางการของประธานาธิบดีของโปรตุเกสตั้งแต่ปี 1910
