This neo-Gothic three-aisled church was constructed between 1869 and 1873 according to designs by the architect Friedrich von Schmidt. Originally established as a parish church, the building was elevated to the status of a cathedral and the seat of the Archdiocese of Vaduz in 1997.
The interior houses a historic organ and serves as a central location for religious services, including sacraments such as baptisms and weddings. The structure is recognized as a significant architectural and religious landmark and holds cultural heritage status.
Adjacent to the main building is the Princely Crypt, which is the burial site for the House of Liechtenstein (the ruling family of the principality). The cathedral serves as a prominent venue for national celebrations and ceremonies involving the royal family.
