Built in 1579, this Renaissance gate is one of two surviving historical entrances to the town center. It is physically connected to the chateau and was originally part of a complex fortification network that utilized walls, moats, and a system of surrounding ponds for defense.
The structure remains a functional thoroughfare and serves as a passage from the historical marketplace across the dam of Štěpnický pond toward the central car park. It is a significant architectural landmark of the town and remains accessible to motor vehicles.
