Trælanípa is a perpendicular cliff reaching a height of 148 meters. The site is characterized by a unique optical illusion involving the freshwater lake Leitisvatn, also known as Sørvágsvatn. Due to the cliff's elevation and perspective, the lake appears to be perched directly above the ocean.
The location holds historical significance as the site where Irish slaves were reportedly pushed off the cliff. This history is reflected in the name, which translates to "Slave Cliff."
