Built in 1818 by King Anouvong, this Buddhist temple is the oldest standing structure of its kind in the city. While much of the surrounding area was destroyed in 1827, the temple survived and remains a significant historical landmark.
The site is characterized by its unique Thai-inspired architecture and a well-preserved cloister. The walls of the cloister house a vast collection of over 2,000 Buddha images, while the interior contains ancient mural paintings.
As a historic place of worship and a vihara, the site serves as a primary example of regional religious heritage. The temple is open to the public.
