This archaeological site served as a major administrative center for the Ichma culture and was later occupied by the Inca Empire. It contains truncated pyramids, ceremonial buildings, ancient ceramics, petroglyphs, and a network of Inca roads. A restored palace is among the notable architectural features found here.
The site provides significant insight into pre-Columbian history and architecture within an urban setting. Preservation efforts include community projects focused on conservation and protection of its cultural heritage.
