Brussels Stock Exchange

Local nameLa Bourse de Bruxelles
LocationPentagon, Brussels, België - Belgique - Belgien

Dating back to the late 19th century, this building was erected on the orders of emperor Napoleon as a part of a project of improving the look of the area. Built in a combination of Second Empire and Neo-renaissance architectural styles, its exterior is decorated with statues, columns, and large stairs.

The building doesn't have a real name. The term "Bourse" means "Stock Exchange", and it is used because the building has been home to the local stock exchange ever since it was built, and still serves as one today. Due to this, it is usually impossible to explore the building's interior.

Located in one of the busiest areas of the city, the Bourse's stairs serve as a favourite meeting and resting place for both locals and tourists and are usually packed with people.

During Christmas time, the Bourse is decorated with lights and there is a Christmas market taking place in front of it.
