Milotice Castle

Originally built on the site of a 14th-century water fortress, this National Cultural Monument was transformed into a Baroque complex between 1719 and 1743. The reconstruction was commissioned by Karel Antonín Serényi and designed by the architect František Benedikt Klíčník. The site remains a uniquely preserved example of Baroque architecture and garden design.

The interior features representative and residential rooms containing historical exhibitions from the 17th to 19th centuries. These spaces specifically illustrate the daily life of the Seilern-Aspang family, including its last owner, JUDr. Ladislav Seilern, during the first half of the 20th century. The orangery houses a collection of Baroque sculptures.

The castle grounds include a large French-style park, a pheasantry, and various examples of garden architecture. Access to the interiors is provided through guided tours, which include specialized sessions where participants wear period costumes to experience the Baroque atmosphere. The complex is open to the public.
