Vista do Rei Viewpoint

This viewpoint overlooks a large caldera lake formed by volcanic activity. It provides expansive views of the Green and Blue Lakes, which are situated within a protected landscape. The site is officially recognized as one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal.

The name Vista do Rei, or King's View, commemorates the 1901 visit of King D. Carlos and Queen D. Amélia. Local legends are associated with the formation of the lakes, adding a layer of cultural significance to the natural landscape.

The site is wheelchair accessible and features a tourist information board. Several hiking trails are located in the vicinity, allowing for further exploration of the volcanic terrain.
