Lagoa do Fogo

This volcanic crater lake is situated at an altitude of 575 meters within a volcanic caldera. It is one of the largest lakes in the region and is characterized by its intensely blue waters. Dense endemic vegetation surrounds the water, forming a protected landscape.

The site has been classified as a nature reserve since 1974 and is part of the Natura 2000 network. It is located within the crater of the Fogo volcano.
