Ribe Viking Museum

Established in 1992 and designed by architect Niels Frithiof Truelsen, this cultural history museum is situated on the precise site where the first Nordic town was founded around 700 A.D. The collection documents the area's evolution from the Viking Age and Middle Ages through to the year 1700, featuring a variety of archaeological finds and exhibitions focused on daily life.

Interactive displays provide context for the local history, showcasing artifacts recovered from excavations. The museum is open to the public and offers a detailed look at the social and economic foundations of one of the region's oldest urban centers.

Specific areas are dedicated to younger audiences, including the Riberødder Viking village and the Dagmar & Valdemar play area. These interactive environments allow for the exploration of historical themes through play and hands-on experiences.
